The Spanish Coastal law is an ass. A really badly thought out piece of legislation that had the aim of protecting the coast but all it did was to allow a coach and horses to be driven through great swathes of the coast leaving concrete monstrosities in its place. However you need to be aware of the Ley de Costas when buying property close to the beach in Spain just in case you fall foul of it just like Antonio Banderas and melanie Griffith did with their property in Marbella.
